WHY AM I CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY RATHER THAN AN ACTUAL CRIME?
The U.S. Attorney prefers to charge crimes as a conspiracy because they know that alleging a conspiracy will result in citizens turning and pointing fingers at each other, whereby the Government convicts the less guilty or not guilty based on the testimony of those who actually committed the underlying crime. Basically, it is an easier way to convict you and many others efficiently without proving the actual crime. This is a sad reality of our system which was not anticipated by our Founding Fathers.
